Christi Hoenshell Age: 19 Hometown: Lee's Summit, Missouri While Christi always heard stories from her grandpa and dads racing days, we never thought she would be one telling them too! ...... When Christi went to watch her first race she knew what she wanted to do. At the age of 10, Christi started racing Junior Micro Sprints. While it seemed this would be a fun family sport Christi's talent and ambition took on a whole new meaning. Her first year of racing proved she had a love for this sport. Christi was proud to be named 2001 - Junior Sprint, with 11 Feature wins, 13 Heat wins and 6 Dash wins she finished #1 in 2002 - 600cc Restrictor, Micro Sprint - "Rookie of the Year". 2003 - 600cc Restrictor, Micro Sprint - 2 Feature wins. 2004 - 600cc Restrictor, Micro Sprint - "Track Champion" - 8 Feature wins, (6) 2nd place finishes. 2005 - 600cc stock Micro Sprint - Christi proved to be powerful in this class. She recorded a qualifying fast time set at a Championship race, among leading track points upon the mid-season sale of her Micro Sprint. 2006 - Full Size Sprint Car - "Rookie of the Year" , 2nd track points. 2007 - Non-Wing Sprint Car - Raced 3 nights at I-70 Speedway getting experience in the non wing class for the 2008 season! Christi graduated in 2007 from Lee's Summit West High School, in Lee's Summit, MO where she maintained scholarship grades. She was involved in Swimming & Diving, Cheerleading and Mechanical Engineering courses. Setting all of those aside, her love of racing comes first. Christi would like to thank her family, friends and sponsors for all the help and support they give.
